The Soul Of My Shoes
Yesterday afternoon, in preparation for a walk with my children, I went in search of my favorite shoes. My favorite shoes. Certainly not my best looking or glamorous shoes, they are my favorites nonetheless.
And, because they are my favorites, they could have been hiding anywhere I had recently been. On the passenger seat of my car. Under the coffee table. Sitting right next my...
For the first time in my life, I just bought something with the intent of returning it when I’m done. I feel like the clerk could tell.
Shakabuku: a swift, spiritual kick to the head that alters your reality forever.
Full marks to my neighbors for not allowing the pouring rain to stop their weekly fiesta, complete with mariachi and BBQ. December or July?
Because standing in a long line in the drizzle waiting for flu shots totally sucks ass, God gave us hot coffee in lovely portable cups.
I adore getting my money back from stingy store managers. Especially when they imply that my kid’s feet are defective instead of the shoes.
Sneak in 15 min of yoga before coffee. Dislocate shoulder. Omg now I need coffee. Shoulder pops back in while making coffee. Ow, taaa-daahh

Part of falling in love with an old home is being able to laugh at all the ridiculous stuff you find wrong. Like a Funhouse, sans clowns.
Getting really tired of Cry Over Sad Movie phase of breakup, wishing Metallica phase would just hurry up and get here already.

Talent show at daughter’s school this am, just saw two 8 yr-olds perform “Apple Bottom Jeans”. Complete with booty slap. Laugh? Cry?
Up early finishing the detail sewing on kids’ Halloween costumes. This was only made possible by really, really, really strong coffee.

Dear Days of Our Lives: Although we’ve often drifted apart over these last 15 years, I love how we can get all caught up in just one hour.
Moving in a week, lots to do. All I can muster currently is coffee and peanut butter toast. Ps. Escondido, I won’t miss you.
Borrowing somebody else’s toddler for two whole days is the cheapest, most effective birth control I’ve found yet.
I had forgotten that keeping up after a toddler means my shirt gets dirty and I desperately wish for naps.
What may be my last night in Echo Park, and there’s a shooting. I’ll miss you, LA. The ghetto bird. http://twitpic.com/hjbdm
